Headquartered in the United States, the Puffy mattress is a well-designed all-foam mattress with the biggest perk - its pricve. It's available only online and delivered to your door. After appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2017, the Puffy mattress quickly became a popular name in the industry.
According to Puffy reviews, it's a high quality mattress with amazing motion isolation and is suitable for most types of sleepers.
The Puffy Lux mattress is available in just one firmness option – medium firm.
This is unfortunate since most mattresses at this price point give customers 2-4 firmness options. But medium firm works great for most people.
The Puffy Lux falls on the softer side of the medium-firm range; around 5/10 where ten is very firm.
This makes it quite comfortable for side, back and combination sleepers.
Stomach sleepers, back-only sleepers and heavier folks may want to look for firmer alternatives that provide better support.
Delivery & Returns
With the rising popularity of the bed-in-a-box, memory foam mattresses are now shipped far more efficiently and conveniently than mattresses purchased from traditional retail stores. Customers are no longer required to take a day off work to accept a delivery as boxed beds are now delivered with the same convenience as most Amazon orders. Some bed-in-a-box companies even offer same-day delivery to certain areas.
Puffy uses the specialist logistics company FedEx to deliver their mattresses directly to customers’ doors throughout the USA and most parts of Canada. In some cases, the delivery can even be left on a porch or deck while the customer is away from home. Shipping is free for both American and Canadian addresses. Puffy customers can expect their new mattress to be delivered within 2–5 business days.
The Puffy Lux is made of four foam layers that are all CertiPUR-US Certified.
First, the covering. The Puffy Lux mattress is covered in a breathable, soft fabric.
Inside the covering, there is a 3-inch layer of polyurethane foam infused with cooling gel at the top of the mattress. The layer isn’t as dense as other memory foams so air can flow through it to enhance the cooling effect of the gel. The gel actually will absorb heat to keep you cool in the summer and hold onto it during the winter to keep you cozy. It also is soft enough to conform to your body in multiple sleep positions.
The second layer is a 2-inch adaptive, transition layer that will contour to the body curves so there is no pressure being placed on your shoulders, hips, and thighs. It is a proprietary foam found only in Puffy Lux mattress and it is supposed to conform and also push back against your weight, in equal measure. So it will ease pressure on those key areas without making you feel like the mattress just swallowed you whole. In that way, it eases the transition between the softer upper layer and the firm support layer beneath.
The third layer is the new 2-inch Climate-Adaptive Regulation. This layer is inserted to create temperature consistency throughout the night. Limiting these fluctuations should lead to a more consistency night of sleep.
The fourth layer is the firm support layer, a 7-inch block of high-density foam that holds everything up and makes it a durable option. Puffy Lux says this layer has the strength and durability to work on any type of base
The cover is 100% polyester.
It’s soft and breathable, which helps keep the surface of the mattress feeling cool.
Note that the cover is not removable. So you cannot wash it to remove stains. That’s why it’s a good idea to get a mattress protector.

Puffy Lux is a great choice if you’re used to memory foam and love the feel of being enveloped and cradled in your mattress. You needn’t worry about being swallowed because this Lux version of the original Puffy mattress features an added transition layer in the middle. Two inches of a slightly denser foam that will stop your body from falling into the thick, firm support layer below without you losing any comfort you get from the top layer.
Even the support layer is enhanced; it’s more dense and firmer and should be a durable choice for anyone who demands their mattress to give them at least seven years of use. The higher price tag of the Puffy Lux, as compared to the original Puffy, is due to the higher quality materials used in construction. The quality of the materials should ensure the years you get out of it will be comfortable ones.
You will pay more for the enhancements, but you’re still purchasing a better version of a mattress that many people found very comfortable. The Puffy Lux is both a higher quality mattress and a middle-of-the-road offering. If you’re willing to pay for the quality, it will accommodate many types of sleepers and be a great fit for average-sized people. We think it’s one of the best mattresses for side sleepers.
